The Hard Times!

We live in hard times.

The social market economy is being replaced by a global market economy, and the marketing guys rule the world. As a consequence, you have to be fast and flexible to survive.

It's a renaissance of Darwinism.

Darwinism as the principle of survival of the fittest was always there even during the socialist trend in the world, and in fact it is the reason why it demised. Socialism as a concept while theoretically good, in the sense it helps the entire society get a better life is inefficient as it doesn't reward individual work and effort, and allows for a lot of free riders, which drains the motivation from human souls and drives complacency.

while at the same time, extreme capitalism is not the solution, as it amasses wealth in the hands of the few and drives mass poverty, which will eventually drain the work motivation from the workers again. in either cases, any society will shift along the socialist - capitalist axis till it finds its equilibrium point that matches its resources, population culture and values.

I believe that the solution lies in the concept of Islamic Economy, where trade and business are highly encouraged but within rules that maintain the equilibrium of the society hence eliminating the drawbacks of both systems (capitalism and socialism) and benefiting from their advantages.
